The Head Injury Association offers supports and services funded through New York State Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), and New York State Department of Health (DOH). DOH Medicaid waiver programs include the Traumatic Brain Injury Waiver Program (TBI) and the Nursing Home Transition and Diversion Waiver Program (NHTD). Experienced staff is available to help navigate the eligibility process and throughout the application phase to assist in accessing supports and services offered through Head Injury Association.
Additionally, Head Injury Association offers employment services through New York State Department of Education. Adult Career and Continuing Education Services-Vocational Rehabilitation (ACCES-VR) assists survivors of Traumatic Brain Injury and individuals with disabilities to achieve and maintain employment, and to support independent living through training, education, rehabilitation, and career development.
